Full-Time Overview A growing engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Department Manager to lead and expand its mechanical engineering team across Florida. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to shape department strategy, drive technical excellence, and mentor a high-performing team within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. This role is ideal for a strong technical leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse project portfolio. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the mechanical engineering department, including staffing, workload planning, and team performance Provide technical oversight for HVAC, plumbing, and building systems design across multiple project types Establish and maintain engineering standards, quality control processes, and best practices Mentor and develop engineers and designers, supporting both technical growth and career progression Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery, including scope, schedule, and budget alignment Oversee QA/QC efforts to ensure all deliverables are accurate, coordinated, and code-compliant Support business development efforts, including proposals, client engagement, and strategic growth initiatives Drive continuous improvement within the department, including tools, workflows, and resource utilization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred 10+ years of experience in an MEP or A/E consulting environment Proven experience leading teams or managing a mechanical discipline or department Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing design, and energy-efficient solutions Experience with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and load calculation software Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple teams, projects, and priorities in a remote environment Why Apply?
