Not Required Collins is seeking a high-potential Principal Project Engineer to join our Electric Power Systems (EPS) team, focused on Business Development and Preliminary Engineering. In this role, you will help shape and capture new business by developing technical solutions, system concepts, and proposal content for early-stage EPS opportunities. Working alongside Chief Engineers and business development teams, you will play a key role in defining competitive, executable system architectures and win strategies. You will engage across engineering disciplines to ensure alignment on Technology Readiness Level (TRL), system topologies, and customer requirements. You will also contribute to the development of high-quality, compliant, and competitive proposals that support profitable program growth, while helping to continuously improve how we pursue and develop new business within EPS. What You Will Do Engage and develop strong relationships between EPS customers and PMT's to align timing and support of Technology Insertion, Trade Studies and Bids Support the EPS Chief Engineer in Business Development and Preliminary Engineering proposal production and align with internal and external customers Coordinate with Program and Functional Engineering to align Technology Roadmaps, Timing and Funding Network with Subject Matter Experts (SME's), Project teams, Discipline Chiefs, Fellows to address Technical Challenges and ensure compliant achievable technical presentations Support Kick off meetings (KOM), Architecture Reviews (RAR), and Non-Advocate Reviews (NAR) to ensure high-integrity, quality bids Prepare proposals with efficiency - owning a consistent and improving process Simplify and error-check the proposal process using organization, automation and digitization Support bid and engagement reviews, strategy, tactics, technical details and approach - maximizing approvals and minimizing turnback's and rework Manage multiple concurrent proposal activities and support and advise teams comprised of Program Chiefs, System Integrated Project Team Leads, Component Integrated Product Team Leads and core SME's Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience Experience working with electrical and mechanical systems, including hardware and software products Experience with requirements capture, assessment, and concept development solutions Strong communication skills for interfacing with customers, leadership, and cross-functional teams Proposal and project management experience Experience leading and working with multidisciplinary teams, including project planning, status assessment, risk identification, and mitigation execution Qualifications We Prefer Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Ability to effectively present to executive-level leadership and customers Vision and interest in improving EPS Business Development and Preliminary Engineering processes Program experience coordinating with program management, EVMS/scheduling, finance, supply chain, engineering, and operations stakeholders Knowledge of aerospace/defense development processes, including qualification, certification, and airworthiness (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, ARINC/RTCA standards) Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and business units while also operating independently Strong organizational skills, leadership qualities, and ability to represent engineering on customer-facing programs What We Offer Benefits Some of our competitive benefits package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Three weeks of vacation for newly hired employees Generous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds and separate employer retirement contribution, including a Lifetime Income Strategy option Tuition reimbursement program Student Loan Repayment Program Life insurance and disability coverage Optional coverages you can buy pet insurance, home and auto insurance, additional life and accident insurance, critical illness insurance, group legal, ID theft protection Birth, adoption, parental leave benefits Ovia Health, fertility, and family planning Adoption Assistance Autism Benefit Employee Assistance Plan, including up to 10 free counseling sessions Healthy You Incentives, wellness rewards program Doctor on Demand, virtual doctor visits Bright Horizons, child and elder care services Teladoc Medical Experts, second opinion program And more! The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
