How extraordinary is that? We are seeking a motivated and experienced Principal Engineer Project Manager to lead and oversee operational sustainment and material projects. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects while fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. This is an onsite position based in Phoenix, AZ.What You Will Do:
Develop and manage Materials Engineering project scope and schedules from cradle to first delivery Lead multiple medium to large projects ($500K+) delivering on-cost, on-schedule and on-technical execution Manage project risks, assumptions and dependencies Prepare progress reports and key project performance metrics includingCPI/SPI/EAC
Support vendor/supplier/contractor oversight, ensuring alignment with project objectives Provide regular status updates on projects to leadership, project sponsors, customers, and other stakeholders Facilitate communication between functional groups, stakeholders and customers Align project schedules with the Work Breakdown Structure to ensure proper planning, monitoring and control Identify, communicate, and resolve project issues in collaboration with project stakeholders Ensure scope changes are identified, documented, and communicated to the program manager for appropriate action Support continuous improvement in maturing standards, procedures, and tools for effective project management practices Mentor early-career professionals by providing guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to enhance team capabilitiesQualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience. Proficient in MS Project, including resource loading, critical path analysis, and earned value management Project Management experiencePreferred Qualifications:
Preferred expertise in material science with a focus on coated fabrics, including their manufacturing, properties, applications, and performance in aerospace environment Project Management certifications (PMP, Agile, SAFe) Experienced in stage/gate development processesWhat We Offer:

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD•204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
