This individual will serve as a strategic leader responsible for engineering execution, product direction, stakeholder engagement, and team development across a globally distributed technical organization. The role requires balancing business priorities, customer requirements, and technical execution while overseeing multidisciplinary engineering teams working on mission-critical software capabilities. The successful candidate will possess a strong software engineering background combined with proven experience leading technical teams, managing product portfolios, and driving complex programs from concept through delivery. Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Organizational Management
  • Lead, mentor, and support highly skilled engineering professionals across multiple international locations
  • Build and maintain high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Establish team objectives, performance expectations, and professional development plans
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support personnel management activities, workforce planning, and organizational growth initiatives Product & Program Ownership
  • Own product vision, roadmap priorities, and delivery objectives across assigned product portfolios
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for product trade-offs, priorities, and strategic direction
  • Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into actionable engineering initiatives
  • Drive alignment between technical execution, business objectives, and operational requirements
  • Communicate product strategy and delivery expectations across globally distributed teams Technical Leadership
  • Partner with engineering leads to review architectures, technical risks, project plans, and delivery milestones
  • Assist in developing effort estimates, schedules, and resource planning activities
  • Evaluate technical challenges and support resolution of complex engineering issues
  • Maintain technical awareness across software engineering, automation, quality engineering, and systems development disciplines
  • Contribute to technical decision-making and long-term product strategy Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience
  • In lieu of a degree, 13+ years of directly related experience
  • 4+ years of experience leading engineering or technical teams
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, process automation, quality engineering, network operations, cybersecurity, or related technical disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple technical projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Experience operating within Agile software development environments
  • U.S. Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, software assurance, vulnerability research, offensive security, or advanced technology development programs
  • Experience managing technical product portfolios and software delivery organizations
  • Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams
  • Familiarity with software debugging, troubleshooting, and developer tooling across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and/or iOS environments
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Experience utilizing source control and CI/CD platforms including GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of modern software architectures, operating systems, networking, and application security principles
  • Exposure to reverse engineering, malware analysis, vulnerability research, mobile platforms, or related advanced technical domains
  • Experience serving as the technical and product-facing leader between engineering organizations, customers, and executive stakeholders Work Environment
  • Hybrid work environment with onsite presence required approximately 2-3 days per week in the Washington, DC area
  • Standard 40+ hour work week with flexibility required to support globally distributed teams Occasional work outside traditional business hours may be necessary to support international stakeholders and program objectives
  • Limited travel may be required based on business needs Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a technically credible engineering and product leader who can successfully balance product ownership, engineering execution, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership within a complex national security environment.
This individual should be equally comfortable engaging with executive leadership, customers, program managers, and highly technical engineering teams while driving delivery, innovation, and long-term product success.
