Job Description:
Project Engineer Company Description My client, a large industrial equipment company that have customers in a wide variety of industries, are looking for a full-time Project Engineer, at their site north of Buffalo, NY. This is an onsite position that is responsible for the coordination and completion of assigned engineering projects including analyzing customer requirements for equipment selection. Remote work is possible occasionally.
Role responsibilities:
Direct and manage project development from beginning to end. Aid in project administration from beginning to end. Complete/support completion of cost estimates for new opportunities and sales efforts. Analyze customer project requirements and communicate to engineering and production. Single point of accountability to oversee, direct and manage deliverables of projects to customer from end to end of project. Collaborate with vendors/suppliers on pricing, productivity ideas and material substitutions. Approve vendor/supplier deviations. Create Design Change Notice(s) (DCN) for customer driven scope changes to internal teams. Track project scope changes and communicate costs to customers for review/approval. Work with Syteline ERP System or other manufacturing software to create /load part numbers and material routings, update job information and pricing as requirements change. Facilitate internal Design Review meeting with Engineering & Designers to review compliance with customer requirements. Review & Product Improvement Trackers (PIT Sheets) to Engineering and Design Teams. Facilitate and Schedule Project Kickoff meetings with internal teams. Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects or services. Meet with existing and potential customers. Writing and follow-up of non-conformity reports & MRRs where applicable. Represent the customer (point of customer) during design & fabrication of projects. Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related field. Several years experience in the field or a related area. Design skills, familiarity with CAD, NX or Inventor ideally. Able to travel to Canada to facilitate work on projects manufactured in that location. Awareness of manufacturing methods and procedures. Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully met. Able to work cooperatively with other project team members as well as customers. Awareness of manufacturing methods and procedures. Able to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions. This role is paying an excellent basic salary in addition to a generous benefits package.
