Not Required We are seeking a System Controls Manager to lead the development, integration, and performance optimization of advanced control systems supporting next-generation aerospace platforms. In this high-impact leadership role, your technical expertise and strategic direction will directly influence the system architecture, control logic, integration, validation and verification of complex system control solutions across Environmental & Airframe Control Systems (EACS) programs. You will lead a high-performing team of control and systems engineers in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation, precision, reliability, and operational excellence throughout the full system development lifecycle. In this role, you will lead both people and technology, driving world-class execution of control system development, system integration, performance analysis, validation and verification activities to ensure robust and compliant system operation. What You Will Do Partner with value stream and engineering leadership to define control system requirements that —fostering a culture of excellence that drives innovation and elevates system performance standards. Collaborate with value stream leaders and chief engineers to strategically align programs with the right technical resources, ensuring teams are empowered, supported, and positioned to deliver high-impact results. Manage team to lead system control architecture reviews, non-advocate reviews, and system design reviews—providing critical technical insight to strengthen design integrity, optimize control strategies, mitigate risk, and ensure alignment with overall program/business objectives. Drive organization and team to exercise continuous improvement of systems engineering and control development processes, championing agility, innovation, and operational excellence to enhance execution across complex aerospace programs. Champion and develop team to identify and manage risks associated with system controls, integration, and performance, proactively developing mitigation strategies that protect program success while enabling continuous improvement opportunities. Manage team to follow standard processes to develop accurate cost estimates and identify capital investment needs, supporting strategic planning and informed decision-making that enables sustainable program growth and technology advancement. Manage team to lead execution of programs within approved budget and schedule while ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, reliability, and performance across all phases of system and component development. Develop team to drive complex technical challenges to resolution through a solutions-oriented leadership approach, removing obstacles, enabling team success, and transforming technical limitations into opportunities for innovation. Provide strategic direction for control systems processes, methods, and technology roadmaps in support of business objectives, customer satisfaction, and long-term capability growth. Develop team to maintain a forward-looking focus on operator experience and fielded system performance, balancing system capability with manufacturability, maintainability, reliability, and lifecycle cost considerations throughout the design and development process. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including coaching, mentoring, and talent development. Qualification We Prefer Experience leading complex systems engineering programs through development, integration, verification, and deployment phases. Experience partnering with engineering leadership, chief engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical execution with program objectives, schedules, and resource constraints. Experience translating organizational strategy into executable engineering roadmaps and integrated program plans. Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams across systems, hardware, software, integration, and test disciplines. Experience conducting structured technical design reviews and driving resolution of complex technical issues across system interfaces and integration environments. Experience managing technical, programmatic, cost, and schedule risks, including development and execution of mitigation plans. Experience managing engineering execution against cost, schedule, and technical performance baselines, including tracking progress and driving corrective actions. Experience developing cost estimates, budget inputs, and capital investment analyses to support program planning and resource allocation. Experience implementing engineering process improvements that improved execution efficiency, reduced rework, or increased program throughput. Experience incorporating manufacturability, maintainability, lifecycle cost, producibility, and operational considerations into early-stage design decisions and trade studies. Experience leading and developing engineering teams, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, and talent development. Knowledge performing controls analysis and experience designing control algorithms to develop team capabilities to ensure proper control design considering control margins (gain and phase) and control separation for consistent performance that considers system variability. Experience utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and automatic code generation from controls analysis models including integration into controller hardware. Familiarity with SAE ARP 4754

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
