Job Posting TitleSenior Project Manager -
Job OverviewThe Senior Project Manager will provide outstanding project oversight and leadership, supporting the companys consulting, EPC, and O&M projects. A successful candidate will foster a culture based on safety, quality, on-budget, and on-time completion of work. The position requires implementing sound management and engineering principles to ensure project teams are successful in executing their projects. The ability to collaborate across a multitude of professional disciplines, project types, operating assets, and clients is of the utmost importance to this position. A successful Project Manager will have the communication skills and breadth of experience to provide project direction in the face of uncertainty and will continuously solicit feedback from cross functional team members on ways that project execution plans can be optimized.
Reports ToThe Senior Project Manager will report to the Executive Vice President, working collaboratively to deliver top notch technical services to both the renewable and traditional energy markets.
This position is eligible for remote work with a preference given to individual within driving distance to Central Oregon or the greater Denver area.
Responsibilities and DutiesTake responsibility for the quality, safety, budget, and schedule of assigned projects.
Develop and maintain project execution plans to include, among other things, schedules, budgets, key stakeholder lists, divisions of responsibility, and communication rosters.
Provide mentorship, training, and continuous feedback to Project Management team members.
Collaborate with other members of the Project and Engineering teams to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and technical specifications.
Provide regular project status updates and action plans to ESI and customer leadership.
Coordinate with Engineering Leads to prioritize deliverables and allocate resources accordingly.
Maintain relations with strategic vendors and sub-contractors.
Collaborate with Business Development and Legal to negotiate contracts and master service agreements with clients and contractors.
Lead change order negotiations with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Maintain client relationships before, during, and after close-out of projects. Facilitate communication within the project management, asset management, and engineering teams to share lessons learned and foster an environment that rewards open discussion about mistakes and near-misses.
Facilitate project close-out meetings to review performance of project team against KPIs.
Participate in risk reviews (PHA, LOPA, HAZOP) of projects activities.
Support plant commissioning activities.
Seek ways to improve and promote quality, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness in all work.
Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Operations, Business Development, Project Management, HR, and IT.Apply RACI principals to support an accountability framework for special projects.
Willingness and ability to respond to urgent issues outside normal business hours.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.Other duties as assigned. Minimum QualificationsThis is a senior level position requiring 8+ years of project management-related experience in some of or all the following industries: Renewable Energy; Oil & Gas; Chemical; Power; Mining; Manufacturing.
Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in project management/scheduling software.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of software. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deal with complex problems and present recommendations and findings in a clear, concise format; ability to interact effectively at all levels within and outside of ESI. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and clients.
Quick learner who adapts well to a fast-moving environment.
Highly motivated and willing to take on multiple responsibilities at once; strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in an environment with changing priorities.
Valid drivers license for state of residence.
Preferred Qualifications5+ years experience as a Project Manager leading Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) projects valued at $10MM to $50MM.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or progress towards one.
Professional Engineers license or progress towards one.
