The Sr. Engineer/Project Manager plays an important role in supporting the leadership team while helping drive projects from concept through completion. This position is responsible for providing technical guidance, reviewing designs and plans, and working closely with project teams to successfully achieve project goals and client expectations. The ideal candidate is adaptable, proactive, and team-oriented, with strong communication and client relationship skills. While the majority of work is performed in an office environment, occasional travel to project sites and client meetings will be part of the role. The Sr. Engineer/Project Manager will also market the firm's engineering services to current and prospective clients while promoting the company vision to become the premier regional firm serving the Energy Land and Infrastructure marketplace. General tasks associated with this position include the following: Supervising the execution of projects that may include pipeline construction, site design, grading, and erosion control measures Managing all phases of the project including preparing proposals, schedules, and cost estimating on energy projects Checking drawings for accuracy to ensure quality control (QC) standards have been met Assigning design and detailing duties while providing technical concepts, advice, and assistance to project personnel Interfacing with clients to ensure that a satisfaction level is maintained Involvement with client management activities, support proposals, and marketing activities Preparing invoices for engineering services rendered as well as processing contractors' applications for payment Negotiating contract change orders while enforcing contractual obligations Managing the project moving toward completion consistent with due dates and the project's overall timeframes and budget Providing communications, letters, and e-mails to appropriate personnel on the status of the project Initiating permitting through appropriate state and local agencies while staying attuned to any permitting needs for the proposed activity Prioritizing efforts to assure QA/QC in deliverables Marketing the company's professional services for new business development Preparing bid documents containing technical specifications and contract administration to bind into contract Performing additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, specifically within civil site design (natural gas design experience a plus) Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain in NC) Strong project management, team building, and communication skills Strong working knowledge of civil engineering Ability to make sound project decisions guided by integrity and firm strategy
