Job Description

Utility Designer
Job Title:
Utility DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dry utility engineer to join our expanding team of civil engineering experts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growing dry utility service offering.

Responsibilities
  • Attend design meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate permitting and timelines with local utility clients such as Verizon, Comcast, Pepco, Washington Gas, and SMECO
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create conceptual design packages tailored to client specifics
  • Incorporate client and internal QA corrections by making appropriate redlines to drawings
  • Take field notes for upcoming projects
  • Assist with project management responsibilities including requests for information from clients, drawing reviews, permit coordination, client/stakeholder reporting, and coordination
  • Manage small dry utility projects from start to finish.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, capable of independently creating preliminary design prints for gas, electric, telecom, and fiber conceptual design packages
  • Experience with permitting and coordinating with local utility providers
  • Knowledge of distribution design, power distribution, and telecom engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Microstation, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to support other engineering groups if dry utility work is slow, primarily in civil projects.
Work EnvironmentThis position offers a hybrid schedule between the Germantown office and working from home. Flexible work hours are available for candidates who can proactively communicate and ad to a consistent schedule. Initially, employees should expect to be in the Germantown office four days a week until they become trusted team members. The role includes premium pay, paid holidays, and PTO. T is a unique opportunity for growth and advancement within the company as part of a newly developing team.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00
