Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) 5-7+ years of maritime or shipyard electrical engineering experience Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, automation, communications) Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical; familiarity with ShipConstructor or similar tools Experience working with ABS, USCG, and other regulatory standards Ability to interpret and apply marine compliance regulations Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Must Haves:

Lead design reviews and approve electrical schematics for new vessel builds and refits Coordinate closely with naval architects and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration Oversee real-time troubleshooting of electrical issues during vessel construction and commissioning Drive continuous improvement initiatives across electrical design and production workflows Manage engineering priorities across multiple vessel projects while maintaining strict timelines Mentor and develop junior engineers, ensuring technical growth and team performance Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with maritime standards and safety protocols Interface directly with production teams to resolve field discrepancies and design challenges

Preferred Background & Skills:

Experience with PLC programming and power management systems Background in integrating advanced shipboard technologies Familiarity with shipyard production processes and safety environments Experience managing multiple large-scale engineering projects simultaneously Strong documentation and process standardization skills Proven ability to implement engineering best practices in a production-driven setting
