Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia About the Opportunity An international energy operator is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support the delivery of a major deepwater offshore development project. This position will provide technical leadership and engineering oversight across FPSO conversion, floating systems integration, offshore installation, and commissioning activities. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and oversee contractor engineering execution to ensure all deliverables are safe, compliant, constructable, and aligned with project execution strategies across fabrication yards, offshore installation phases, and operational handover. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering activities for FPSO conversion and offshore integration projects Provide technical leadership across mechanical, marine, process, electrical, instrumentation, and offshore engineering disciplines Oversee engineering delivery throughout fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up phases Ensure engineering deliverables are constructable, installable, and aligned with offshore execution methodologies Review and approve engineering deliverables in compliance with project specifications, classification society requirements, and international standards Manage contractor engineering performance, deliverables, and technical coordination activities Support integration between topsides, marine systems, offshore facilities, subsea systems, and installation packages Lead engineering support activities during fabrication yard operations, offshore installation campaigns, module integration, and commissioning phases Coordinate closely with project management, construction, commissioning, and offshore execution teams Identify engineering risks and implement mitigation plans to support safe and efficient project delivery Support safety in design initiatives and ensure compliance with HSE and quality requirements Manage engineering changes and assess impacts on project schedule, cost, and execution Provide structured reporting on engineering progress, technical risks, and mitigation activities to project leadership Participate in technical reviews, constructability studies, interface workshops, and project risk assessments Support project delivery through collaboration with contractors, vendors, classification bodies, and multidisciplinary stakeholders Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or related discipline Minimum 20 years of experience within offshore oil and gas projects Minimum 10 years of experience in FPSO, floating production systems, or deepwater offshore engineering leadership roles Proven experience supporting FPSO conversion or newbuild projects through engineering, fabrication, offshore installation, commissioning, and start-up phases Strong knowledge of topsides process systems, hull and module integration, marine systems, and offshore engineering execution Experience coordinating subsea systems, floating systems integration, risers, and offshore interfaces Strong understanding of offshore fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operational readiness activities Experience managing
EPC/EPCIC
contractor engineering execution and multidisciplinary engineering teams Familiarity with international engineering standards and classification society requirements including API, ISO, ABS, DNV, or equivalent Strong knowledge of offshore safety, quality, and engineering governance processes Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills Ability to manage complex technical interfaces within fast-paced offshore project environments Preferred Experience Previous experience on deepwater offshore developments Experience supporting offshore hook-up and commissioning activities Exposure to large-scale FPSO integration and offshore installation projects Experience working with international operators, EPC contractors, and fabrication yards Advanced engineering or professional certifications are advantageous Key Competencies FPSO Engineering & Integration Offshore Project Engineering
