As a result, a full-time position is available for a Senior Project Architect at either our Dallas (TX), Tampa (FL), Lexington (SC), or North Charleston (SC) office locations. This position would lead project teams focused on delivering architectural and engineering services for Food & Beverage and industrial facility projects and play a key role in expanding Mead & Hunt's industrial market.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinating multi-disciplinary in-house and sub-consultant team members
Working closely with clients, contractors, and internal design/build partners
Assisting the Project Manager with pursuing projects
Coordinating and leading project teams
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Developing and executing project workplans
Mentoring younger technical staff
Scheduling and facilitating team and client meetings
Developing and delivering presentations to clients, partners, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
Other tasks as assigned. The successful candidate must have the following: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in architecture or related field from an accredited college or university
At least 15 years of relevant project experience
Current architectural license and ability to obtain licensure in additional states as needed A valid driver's license and travel (approximately 20%) will be required. The ideal candidate will have any/all the following: Experience leading architectural teams through each stage of project development for food & beverage and industrial facilities
Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders
Experience mentoring younger technical staff
Experience leading architectural teams preliminary design through construction documents, bidding, and construction administration phase services for industrial facilities
NCARB Certified
Business development experience - seeking out and following through on new project opportunities in coordination with a team
Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.
