Job Title:
Project Manager Job Description The Project Manager will lead and execute ongoing capital projects within a heavy industrial process manufacturing facility. This role develops and manages detailed project plans, provides technical support in mechanical systems, and coordinates cross-functional teams and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in line with quality and reliability goals. Responsibilities Develop detailed project plans that clearly define scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to determine project viability and identify potential issues before execution. Provide technical support and expertise in mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability of plant equipment. Select appropriate materials, equipment, and technologies to support effective project implementation in a process manufacturing environment. Coordinate and manage multiple capital projects simultaneously, from small upgrades to larger heavy equipment projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, electrical engineers, construction personnel, and other stakeholders, to achieve project goals. Evaluate and select vendors and contractors for project execution based on technical capability, safety performance, and cost-effectiveness. Prepare technical specifications, requests for proposals (RFPs), and bid evaluations to support procurement and contractor selection. Oversee contractor activities on site to ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations. Ensure all projects adhere to applicable quality control standards, industry regulations, and safety requirements. Support the Engineering leadership team in maximizing site equipment availability and reliability through effective project planning and execution. Manage project documentation, including process documentation, progress reports, and technical records, to maintain clear and accurate project histories. Support and coordinate activities related to mechanical and electrical upgrades, including pumps, valves, instrumentation and electrical (I&E), and heavy equipment upgrades. Contribute to planning and execution of projects associated with plant shutdowns, ensuring work is properly scheduled and integrated with operations. Essential Skills Minimum five years of experience in project management, preferably in a heavy industrial manufacturing or processing environment. Proven experience managing capital projects from conception through completion, including planning, execution, and closeout. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and materials used in a process manufacturing facility. Experience with project management in heavy industry, including construction management and coordination with contractors. Ability to develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical and mechanical engineering and project management. Experience supporting or coordinating with disciplines such as process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and I&E. Strong skills in process documentation and preparation of technical specifications, RFPs, and bid evaluations. Ability to oversee work on the plant floor and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Clarksville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
