Role Overview The President, Texas Ready Mix Division is accountable for transforming the performance, scale, and culture of the business. This leader will restore profitability, drive disciplined growth, and embed operational and commercial excellence while balancing local market entrepreneurship with enterprise-standardized systems. The role is expected to materially increase EBITDA, expand volume through organic and inorganic growth, and lead process standardization, best‑practice sharing, operational discipline, and data‑driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities Operational & Technical Leadership Full accountability for operational performance metrics, including plant utilization, reliability, throughput, and overall fleet efficiency Ownership of fleet productivity, maintenance strategy, uptime, and lifecycle cost management Leadership of technical services, including mix optimization, quality control systems, and product innovation Translation of technical and operational capabilities into measurable cost and margin improvement Commercial Leadership Develop and execute market‑based go‑to‑market strategies aligned with customer segmentation and local market dynamics Drive disciplined pricing, customer selection, and service models Ensure transparency and rigor in the commercial process, including pipeline management, win/loss analysis, and customer profitability reporting Define and execute differentiated value propositions by customer segment Growth & Capital Stewardship Execute capital investment and organic growth initiatives within governance frameworks Partner with leadership on M&A strategy, due diligence, integration, and post‑close value realization Standardization & Enterprise Alignment Full alignment with company health and safety processes and reporting requirements Adoption and execution of standardized back‑office support models, including AP, AR, and transactional accounting Compliance with enterprise reporting, capital allocation, organic growth, and M&A processes Talent & Culture Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing leadership team with clear accountability and succession plans Establish a visible talent development pipeline across operations, technical, and commercial roles Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Leadership Attributes Deliberately safe mindset with uncompromising standards Data‑driven, disciplined, and decisive Able to balance local empowerment with enterprise alignment Comfortable challenging legacy behaviors and driving change Builder of people, teams, and future leaders Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities. Advanced degree preferred. Valid Driver's License (DL) and satisfactory driving record is required. Ten years in a management role within the construction industry specifically in concrete, asphalt, aggregates, construction and/or equipment. Work Requirements Must be 18 years in age or older. Pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check required. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Knowledge/Skill Requirements Ability to prepare annual budgets and work with and/or administer budget; ability to answer questions and present financial data to Regional President and others. Knowledge and understanding of functional areas within the ready-mix and sales. Ability to work with peers and other members of management team from all lines of business to achieve progress towards mutual goals. Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally. Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Demonstrated success in managing large group of employees. Strong organizational and project management skills. High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust. Strong work ethic and high standards for safety in the workplace. Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant. Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback. Ability to communicate with civic leaders and local, state, and national policy makers. Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours. Must be able to work independently and with groups. Must be able to work under time constraints as needed.
