Job Title Director of Architecture and Engineering Pay $200,000 base salary + 20% bonus Location Hybrid Naperville, IL or Dallas, TX (travel quarterly to Naperville, IL) Summary Seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Architecture and Engineering to lead all architectural and engineering efforts for a long-standing client in the food distribution industry. This role offers the chance to drive significant growth, foster innovation, and shape strategic technology initiatives for a rapidly expanding company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS applications, Microsoft .NET technologies, AWS cloud, and leadership in scaling engineering teams. Requirements Minimum 10+ years in software design, development, and enterprise architecture Extensive experience with SaaS applications, food distribution or supply chain background preferred Proven leadership in scaling and managing engineering teams, including offshore and nearshore resources Strong expertise in Microsoft .NET (Core), Angular, AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SNS), and CI/CD practices Deep knowledge of Postgres, Jsonb, Entity Framework Core, and database query optimization Familiarity with serverless frameworks, SOLID principles, CQRS, and modern DevOps best practices Excellent communication, personality, and drive to grow teams and foster client relationships Experience working closely with C-level executives and managing client account strategies Responsibilities Lead the architecture and engineering teams to develop scalable, secure SaaS solutions Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to define technical vision and strategy Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and innovative technology solutions Oversee the deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, including AWS serverless components Manage onshore, nearshore, and offshore engineering resources, fostering a team-oriented culture of excellence Serve as a trusted advisor to the client CIO and engineering leader, providing strategic guidance Drive continuous improvement in development processes, testing, and deployment pipelines Mentor and develop engineering staff and build a high-performance organization aligned with client growth ambitions Benefits Significant growth potential with opportunities to innovate and influence company strategy Dynamic environment focused on technology advancement and team development Opportunity to lead a key client partnership and make a meaningful impact on their scale and success Collaborative, forward-thinking leadership team with a focus on long-term vision Competitive salary and bonus package plus potential for career advancement
