Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer Job Description This role focuses on developing and managing bills of materials, supporting aerospace manufacturing operations, and ensuring all products and processes comply with customer and industry specifications. The Manufacturing Engineer creates and maintains manufacturing documentation, supports daily production activities, and helps introduce new products on time and within budget. This position also contributes to continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and enhancing manufacturing methods and inspection processes. Responsibilities Create, maintain, and manage bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and alignment with customer and industry specifications. Use CAD modeling tools, with Catia experience as a plus, to design and update components, assemblies, and manufacturing aids. Develop shop drawings and sketches (shop aids) that clearly communicate manufacturing requirements and support production teams. Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure parts and assemblies meet design and functional requirements. Develop and implement manufacturing inspection methods, including templates, check fixtures, and other inspection tools. Provide daily operations support to the manufacturing floor, troubleshooting issues and resolving production challenges in a timely manner. Project manage and develop new products to meet quoted timelines and budgets, coordinating with cross-functional teams as needed. Support quality functions, including participation in special process audits and adherence to quality standards and procedures. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and capabilities to support current and future aerospace manufacturing work. Collaborate with machining and production teams to ensure manufacturability, efficiency, and compliance with aerospace requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide manufacturing processes and ensure accuracy. Perform ad hoc duties as assigned to support engineering, production, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university. At least three (3) years of experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in aerospace manufacturing. Strong experience working with bills of materials (BOMs) and materials management in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application in manufacturing. Experience in aerospace manufacturing processes and standards. Familiarity with SAP or other MRP systems for manufacturing planning and control. Ability to develop and interpret shop drawings, sketches, and shop aids. Proficiency in CAD modeling; Catia experience is a plus. Ability to develop manufacturing inspection methods, including templates and check fixtures. Capability to support daily manufacturing operations and troubleshoot production issues. Ability to understand and follow safety precautions, procedures, and other specifications necessary to perform job functions. Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States, with employment eligibility verification required at the time of hire. U.S. person status as defined by ITAR (U.S. Permanent Resident, or other qualifying status under ITAR). Strong organizational and project management skills to deliver new products on time and within budget. Additional Skills & Qualifications Design ability and experience in designing components, fixtures, or tools are a plus. Experience working in aerospace environments with machining operations. Familiarity with special process audits and quality system requirements. Experience using CATIA for 3D modeling and design in a manufacturing context. Exposure to evaluating and implementing new manufacturing technologies and capabilities. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams. Ability to work independently and handle ad hoc assignments while supporting multiple projects. Interest in long-term opportunities, including potential conversion from contract to direct hire with profit-sharing opportunities when converted. Work Environment This position is based on-site at a manufacturing facility in south Fort Worth, working directly within an aerospace production environment. The engineer works closely with machining, production, and quality teams on the shop floor and in an engineering office setting. The role involves frequent interaction with manufacturing equipment, inspection tools, and CAD workstations, as well as regular use of SAP or MRP systems to support planning and production. The schedule follows standard manufacturing hours, with the need to be present on-site to support daily operations and respond quickly to production needs. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and collaboration, and offers a contract or contract-to-hire path with the potential for profit-sharing opportunities upon conversion to a direct role Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
