Position Overview The Port Crane Service Manager will be responsible for leading the service operations for port cranes, including container handling cranes, mobile harbor cranes, and other heavy lifting equipment. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership and client relationship management to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The manager will oversee service teams, manage resources, and coordinate with customers, ensuring ALATAS remains the partner of choice for advanced port crane solutions. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Lead and manage daily operations of port crane service projects, including inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and emergency repairs. Plan, allocate, and monitor manpower, tools, and spare parts for ongoing and upcoming jobs. Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, compliance, and ALATAS' quality management systems. Team Management Supervise and develop service engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. Provide coaching, training, and technical guidance to maintain high-performance teams. Manage workforce scheduling, travel, and site logistics for service assignments. Customer & Business Development Act as primary point of contact for port crane customers in the region. Build and maintain strong client relationships to promote repeat business and long-term partnerships. Support sales teams in preparing service proposals, technical evaluations, and quotations. Identify opportunities for upgrades, retrofits, and lifecycle extension solutions. Project & Financial Management Oversee job planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction. Track service project costs, resource utilization, and performance metrics. Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and invoicing of service activities. Technical & Continuous Improvement Stay updated with port crane technologies, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in service processes, safety practices, and customer delivery. Collaborate with engineering teams on complex troubleshooting and upgrade projects. Qualifications & Experience Essential Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification). 7+ years of experience in crane service/maintenance, preferably with port cranes (STS, RTG, RMG, MHC). Proven track record of leading service teams and managing complex technical projects. Strong knowledge of crane mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Strong HSE awareness and commitment to safety culture. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for service projects. Desirable Prior experience with OEMs, crane service providers, or port operators. Familiarity with PLCs, automation, and digital upgrade solutions.
