Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and tooling functions to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. This role oversees process development, equipment performance, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring alignment with plant goals across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role reporting directly to plant leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Tooling teams; establish clear expectations and accountability. Own manufacturing processes, including design, optimization, and ongoing performance. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime. Manage tooling and die operations, including design, fabrication, and continuous improvement. Lead capital projects such as new product introductions, equipment installations, automation, and capacity expansions. Ensure process capability and product quality through root cause analysis and corrective actions. Drive lean manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, including machine guarding and LOTO procedures. Manage budgets related to engineering, maintenance, tooling, and capital expenditures. Track and report key performance metrics such as OEE, downtime, and project execution. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 7-10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role. Experience in process design, project management, and team leadership within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, equipment, and process optimization. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
