About the Opportunity Parametrix is seeking an experienced and dynamic Utah Market Practice Builder - Civil Engineering/Planning for our office located in Sandy, Utah. This position will join our existing leadership team and help drive strategic growth. The Market Practice Builder leads business development efforts and ensure the successful delivery of projects in transportation, traffic engineering, and planning based on their expertise. This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical expertise, client relationship skills, and a passion for advancing Parametrix's mission of delivering inspired solutions in the Southwest region (Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, and California). Your Role on the
Team:
Business Development:
Drive growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with public and private sector clients, such as the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Wasatch Front Regional Council, and local municipalities.
Project Management and Oversight:
Provide high-level oversight for office projects, ensuring technical excellence, quality control, and adherence to budgets and schedules.
Team Development:
Mentor and develop staff, fostering professional growth, involving team members in business development and client connections, and building a cohesive team. Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to grow the office's capacity and expertise.
Client and Community Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders in the region.
Strategic Planning:
Participate with Utah leadership to align the Salt Lake City office's goals with the Southwest Region strategic objectives. What You Bring to the
Team:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Licensure:
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah or the ability to obtain within six months is preferred but not required, depending on the candidate's background.
Experience:
Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering, planning, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and working with Utah-based clients (e.g., UDOT, local governments) is highly desirable. Why Join Parametrix?
