  • $70,000 a year 2 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Maintenance CMMS Electrical systems Maintenance management Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description Overview Who we need: We are looking for a motivated, experienced, hands-on Assistant Chief Building Engineer This is a Full-Time position reporting to the Chief Building Engineer.
The role is based in Arlington, VA 22209 and will require some travel. What you'll do: Attends to in-house engineering needs in a timely fashion and maintains accurate repair work notes in Building System. Has the knowledge and ability to operate the fire alarm emergency control system in accordance with the Arlington County Fire Code. Accompanies the Building Manager on quarterly building inspections. Accompanies any specialists on mechanical inspections. Record on a monthly basis all utility meter readings. Each month, adjusts and ensures the time clock is working properly. On a weekly basis, performs an outside light check. Coordinates snow removal for the Condominium. Directs the porters in snow shoveling and keeping ramps and walkways free of ice. Keeps the garage mechanical doors lubricated and in good working condition. Recaulks all common areas (interior and exterior) when necessary. Replaces all HVAC air filters on a schedule to be determined by the Building Manager and Engineer. Performs all building related maintenance work as directed by the Building Manager such as, but not limited to, installation of signs, adjustment of common area doors and all common areas required mechanical maintenance. On a regular basis, keeps the drain lines open and on an emergency basis, corrects sewer backups, water flooding (common areas and/or units) and heating and air conditioning problems. Repairs storage bins, as necessary. Performs any maintenance function required by the Association and not covered by another contract. Performs such other duties which are incidental to the position or as prescribed by the Building Manager and/or Property Manager. What we're looking for: 5+ years in facilities maintenance, with some of those in a assistant chief, supervisory or lead engineer role. Strong knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Familiarity with building plumbing systems and electrical systems. Experience with computerized systems that control building operations. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems Preventative maintenance
