Category Systems Engineer Required Security Clearance TS/SCI (SSBI) Type Full-Time Overview Stellar Solutions is seeking a Chief Engineer to support a new, fast-paced Mission Operations Center (MOC) environment supporting a complex, multi-vendor ground enterprise. In this role, you will serve as the technical leader for all Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities, guiding architecture, integration, verification, and operational readiness efforts across a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment supporting enterprise orchestration, situational awareness, and resilient data transport capabilities. The selected candidate will work closely with the prime contractor, government stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful integration and operational execution across the enterprise. Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications In this role, you will: Lead all System-of-Systems (SoS) integration activities for the program, including interface definition, external ICD coordination, enterprise data flow integration, and cross-system interoperability Direct development and management of the requirements baseline, including decomposition, allocation, traceability, and configuration control Oversee MBSE modeling, digital architecture products, and authoritative technical baselines Lead the design and integration of hybrid architectures spanning on-premises and cloud-based services Lead technical trades, technology insertion strategies, and performance optimization efforts across MVP, MVCR, and future capability releases Provide technical leadership for orchestration of multi-vendor network services, path optimization, resource prioritization, and operational responsiveness Develop approaches for enterprise health, status, and performance monitoring to support situational awareness Guide the design of anomaly detection, troubleshooting workflows, and automated remediation capabilities Oversee integration of Zero-Trust principles, cross-domain solutions, accreditation requirements, and MLS operations Lead end-to-end IVV&T strategy including test planning, verification closure, readiness events, and transition-to-operations activities Represent the SE&I subcontractor in technical forums with the prime contractor and government stakeholders Guide junior engineers and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across software Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the engineering organization Required Qualifications Demonstrated expertise and leadership in Systems Engineering supporting space, ground, or mission enterprise systems Experience architecting or integrating hybrid cloud/on-prem mission systems Strong understanding of design, integration, and testing standards for complex ground system architectures, data transport systems, and multi-vendor service orchestration Understanding of network engineering, cybersecurity architectures, and enterprise operational constructs Proficiency with MBSE tools and modeling approaches Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams within large-scale technical programs Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Desired Qualifications Experience with commercial pLEO or other relay-satellite service integration Experience tailoring commercial solutions for effective operational use in government systems supporting the warfighter Familiarity with AI/ML analytics supporting network performance and operational visibility Prior experience serving as a Chief Engineer on major programs Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field with 15+ years of relevant engineering experience Minimum of 5 years leading SE&I teams or large technical programs Advanced degree preferred Security Requirements U.S. Citizenship required Active Top-Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access Location & Travel Requirements Primary duty location: Virginia or Colorado (hybrid work option available). Occasional travel to customer and partner sites required. Compensation The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $220,000 annually. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, participation in our profit sharing/retirement program (PSP), and a comprehensive benefits package. When combined, these elements can significantly increase total compensation.
