Job Description
Engineering Manager Purpose of the role The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading engineering projects to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions in support of GSC Leaf US operations. This role oversees the planning, feasibility, design, and execution of capital projects, ensuring alignment with the approved CAPEX investment plan, PMO methodologies, and business priorities. The Engineering Manager ensures the successful implementation, construction, assembly, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and machinery, while maintaining strong financial discipline, technical standards, and compliance across all supported business areas. Main Responsibilities Lead the planning, development, and execution of CAPEX investment projects, ensuring alignment with financial plans, business priorities, and the application of latest technologies and safety standards. This includes business case development, feasibility analysis, and end-to-end project delivery (design, construction, installation, and handover). Manage the technical team and overall CAPEX pipeline, ensuring effective resource planning, cost control, and project performance across safety, quality, service, and sustainability, while applying PMO methodologies and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, technical documentation, and legal requirements across all disciplines, supporting maintenance, utilities, and production teams while identifying gaps and driving corrective actions where needed. Manage and control the Engineering budget and CAPEX for GSC Leaf US, ensuring cost-effective use of resources, budget adherence, and identification of cost optimization opportunities. Ensure full compliance with EHS standards and company policies across all Engineering activities, working closely with EHS to guarantee safe operations, proper training, and adherence to local and regulatory requirements. Support audits, inspections, and timely reporting to internal and external authorities. Promote and maintain safe and organized work environments through practices such as 5S/3R, while ensuring activities follow the Integrated Management System, including documentation, control processes, and continuous improvement of standards and procedures. Lead the monitoring and reporting of natural resource consumption (energy, gas, water), ensuring accurate tracking, compliance with ISO 50001, and identification of opportunities to improve efficiency. Design and implement energy-related initiatives, including site inspections and energy surveys, to optimize resource consumption and drive best-in-class efficiency practices across all stages of operations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineerings required; postgraduate qualification in Business Management is desirable. The role requires a minimum of five years of experience in project planning and implementation, ideally within a manufacturing environment, along with experience leading technical teams. The candidate should demonstrate strong understanding of manufacturing processes, project management, continuous improvement, and financial analysis. Experience in the tobacco industry is considered an advantage. Fluency in English (Oral and written) The candidate demonstrates strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Power BI), along with solid knowledge of SAP ERP systems. Pay:
