Senior Air Quality Engineer Featured
LOCATION
Herndon, VA TYPE Direct Hire ID j-2785 The Senior Air Quality Engineer is a very strategic role in the BU's group. They will provide senior leadership to advance the company's air quality and sustainability practice. The Senior Air Quality Engineer plays a key role in developing and implementing business strategies, market positioning, and growth initiatives; integrating air quality services across company's global operations and client portfolio; identifying and developing cross-disciplinary solutions leveraging the company's full-service capabilities.
Main Duties:
Serve as Senior Account Lead for key strategic clients Build and maintain long-term client relationships across industrial, energy, financial, and private equity sectors Lead opportunity capture planning, including RFP strategy, proposal development, and contract negotiations Participate in and support the Key Account Management Program to expand account value and market share Lead and oversee air quality advisory and permitting projects, including PSD and Title V permitting Provide technical direction for complex, multi-disciplinary projects Ensure project delivery aligns with the company's quality, financial, and performance standards Support development of regulatory strategies and compliance solutions for clients Build, lead, and mentor a team of air quality and sustainability professionals Support recruitment and development of key technical talent Delegate responsibilities effectively to support team growth and operational efficiency Promote a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field 15+ years of experience in air quality and sustainability, ideally within the energy sector • Strong knowledge of PSD and Title V air permitting; industrial air quality compliance and regulatory frameworks; market trends, client needs, and competitive landscape; Business development and capture strategies • Proven experience in program and operational leadership; managing and growing client accounts; leading multidisciplinary teams Demonstrated success managing project and group financial performance Established industry network and client relationships
