job summary: Our client is seeking a full-time Design Supervisor to lead their drafting and design operations at their Roanoke, VA headquarters. In this pivotal role, you will manage, mentor, and schedule a multidisciplinary team of structural and electrical designers, transforming high-level engineering concepts into precise manufacturing blueprints. We are looking for a veteran designer or design engineer with over five years of industrial or modular design experience who is ready to step into a leadership role while remaining close to the technical details. Roanoke, Virginia job type: Permanent salary: $80,000 - 100,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Associates responsibilities: Manage and mentor a team of structural and electrical designers while assigning project workloads to meet manufacturing deadlines.
Establish and enforce drafting standards and modeling best practices to maintain design consistency.
Conduct detailed quality reviews on integrated structural and electrical drawing packages before they go to production.
Ensure all modular building designs comply with customer specifications and relevant national and state building codes.
Partner with the engineering manager to optimize design templates, reduce waste, and improve manufacturability.
Act as the main technical contact for the factory floor to quickly resolve design issues during fabrication.
