Project Engineer/ Project Manager

Job shop work is in high demand and we are seeking a high achiever who will thrive in a Project Management role. The Project Manager receives a drawing and models for a machined part or a fabricated part, creates a routing through the machine shop or fabrication shop, and works with machinists, fabricators, quality control inspectors, and the customer to build the part to print and on time. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience managing projects to produce machined or fabricated parts to meet our Aerospace customers' specifications. Qualifications The main goal of this position is to ship customer orders on time.
This includes:
1. Preventing the Recurrence of Discrepancies. 2. Identifying Bottle necks and Shop Constraints before they cause late delivery. 3. Understanding the Lean Business Model and ideal product flow through all steps in the value stream. 4. Managing the value stream from Order Receipt through Shipping.
Responsibilities:
1. Function as part of for the Floor Leadership Team. 2. Follow and enforce standard work for the project management process. 3. Communicate the status of projects with the customer and the Engineering Manager. 4. Communicate the requirements of the project with the shop floor and Quality Manager. 5. Creates new and modifies existing production routings defining each operation required to move a component, sub assembly, or assembly through the manufacturing process from issuance of raw material through production assembly and test; 6. Creates new and modifies existing manufacturing work instructions and procedures defining the manufacturing steps; 7. Assumes complete process ownership of assigned manufacturing or assembly area and provides appropriate level of floor support, interfacing with other functional groups as required, to review and resolve processing issues; 8. Researches, specifies or designs tooling and fixtures to aid in manufacturing and inspection; 9. Supports Supply Chain with supplier inspection, accreditation and selection; 10. Performs industrial engineering tasks, as required, such as time studies and work cell development and layout to improve product work flow and decrease lead time. 13Provides assistance for various special projects.
