Location:
Winchester, VA (Travel to Hampton, VA and Tracy's Landing, MD as needed) About This Role Leads mechanical and HVACR projects from planning through execution across a variety of markets including mission critical facilities, data centers, manufacturing, and commercial operations. This role is responsible for driving project success by aligning resources, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring high-quality delivery. With a primary focus in VA, MD, WV, and DC markets (targeted 90-mile radius), this position will also support national accounts as needed. The Project Manager serves as a key liaison between field teams, leadership, and clients while ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end execution of HVACR and mechanical projects across multiple client accounts Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and expectation management Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project alignment Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, delays, and performance issues Support estimating, quoting, and project planning for new and existing work Ensure compliance with safety standards, internal processes, and client requirements Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and financial tracking Drive continuous improvement in workflows, processes, and project delivery strategies Preferred Skills & Qualifications 10+ years of field experience in HVACR or mechanical systems, including work in complex environments and advanced troubleshooting Strong understanding of mechanical infrastructure including chillers, CRAC/CRAH systems, and controls Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Experience working in industrial, commercial, or mission critical environments Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet, or similar platforms Licenses / Certifications Valid driver's license with clean driving record PMP Certification (preferred) Mechanical or HVAC-related certifications (preferred) Equal Opportunity & Inclusion Statement SMCiS is an equal opportunity employer.
