Job Description

Our client in Seattle, WA is currently hiring for a Mechanical Project Manager to support large‑scale healthcare construction projects. This is a permanent opportunity focused on managing complex mechanical scopes (MEP) for projects valued at $20M+ . The role partners closely with engineering, fabrication, field supervision, and business development teams to deliver high‑quality, profitable mechanical construction projects for recognizable project owners in the greater Seattle area. Pay $87,000 - $145,000 (depending on years of experience, tenure, scope managed, and project complexity) Location Seattle, WA Schedule Standard Monday - Friday (40 hours per week) Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of mechanical project estimating, scoping, proposals, safety, execution, and financial performance
  • Develop, estimate, sell, and manage multiple fast‑track mechanical construction projects
  • Oversee healthcare projects with MEP‑specific scope valued at $20M or more
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of mechanical systems costing and value analysis
  • Communicate with internal engineering teams to ensure designs clearly define scope and align with project budgets
  • Collaborate with fabrication and manufacturing teams to support project delivery
  • Attend coordination and model review meetings as required
  • Partner with business development teams to help secure new work and expand the client base
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Review estimates prepared by direct reports and establish detailed project budgets
  • Estimate, price, and negotiate change orders
  • Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs
  • Manage equipment and subcontractor buyouts
  • Expedite and track delivery of major equipment and materials
  • Maintain working knowledge of project scope, general conditions, and contract requirements
  • Control and maintain all project documentation per company and contract standards
  • Coordinate with field supervision to plan, schedule, and execute work
  • Review contract drawings, detail drawings, and technical specifications
  • Prepare fabrication shop work packages including material takeoffs and labor budgeting
  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs on all jobsites
  • Provide clear, proactive communication to all project stakeholders
  • Train, mentor, and supervise Project Engineers and Project Coordinators
  • Uphold company core values and professional standards Qualification Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager
  • 3+ years managing healthcare construction projects overseeing MEP scope
  • Experience managing projects with a minimum of $20M in scope
  • Direct experience managing project billings and financials
  • Strong project and construction management skills
  • Change order, RFI, and cost forecasting experience
  • Mechanical construction experience with HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical)
  • Experience managing and mentoring Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing engineering principles Disqualifiers
  • Less than 5 years of mechanical project management experience
  • No experience managing healthcare projects with MEP scope
  • No experience managing large‑scale projects ($20M+)
