Completes engineering projects by developing and evaluating project plans and progress.Duties:
- Establishes project objectives by analyzing project proposal; collaborating with management.
- Establishes project plan by determining time frame, funding, and staffing; approving project schedule.
- Organizes project staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff members; assigning responsibilities; approving contractors.
- Establishes and achieves financial objectives by preparing a project budget; scheduling and approving expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Approves project specifications by analyzing product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; authorizing technical studies.
- Confirms product performance by establishing standards; testing requirements.
- Controls project plan by approving design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains project staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains project data base by developing information requirements; designing an information system.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations; coordinating with government regulatory agencies.
