LOCATION
 
Vancouver, WA SALARY:
 $50.58 per hour
SCHEDULE
 Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm, Temporary, 6 months - 1 year, possibility to extend
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, review, and certifyplex design plans and specifications for transportation, strormwater, sewage, and related public infrastructure projects. Review residential andmercial development proposals forpliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct site inspections and evaluate feasibility, drainage, soils, structural conditions, and long-term performance. Perform advanced engineering analyses, technical research, and cost estimates to support project planning. Prepare and review contracts, design agreements, grant documentation, and technical reports. Lead pre-bid and pre-construction meetings and provide technical guidance to stakeholders. Oversee construction to ensurepliance with approved plans; review progress and authorize payments. Resolve contractor and property owner issues and represent Public Works at public meetings as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field.
Certification:
Active Certified Professional Engineer (PE) license. Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including plan review, transportation, and stormwater design. Demonstrated ability to manageplex engineering assignments with limited oversight Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, regulatory standards, and project management practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position performs professional engineering work in both office and field environments. Work is conducted in a temperature-controlled office setting as well as outdoor project sites. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
