JA Eisch LLC is a growing commercial casework and custom woodwork manufacturer seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Drafting & Engineering Department. This is not just a senior engineering role — this is a department leadership position responsible for aligning design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation into one high-performing system. What You'll Do Lead the Department Oversee both Drafting and Engineering teams Drive alignment from submittal drawings → production-ready engineering Manage workload, priorities, and team performance Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement Own Technical Execution Serve as the technical authority on cabinet engineering and constructability Oversee engineering of complex and high-risk projects Ensure all drawings are fully buildable, manufacturable, and installation-ready Build Systems That Scale Develop and enforce engineering and drafting standards Maintain detail libraries and cabinet systems Improve workflows that increase efficiency across the company Drive Quality & Profitability Ensure department output meets high accuracy standards (≤2% markup rate) Reduce production issues, rework, and field problems Protect project margins through disciplined engineering practices Develop Your Team Coach, mentor, and develop Drafting and Engineering team members Train staff in constructability and manufacturing awareness Build a high-performance team, not just individual contributors What We're Looking For Experience 10+ years in cabinet engineering, millwork, or related construction Proven experience leading and developing technical teams Strong background in commercial casework systems Skills Expert in AutoCAD and Cabinet Vision (or similar) Deep understanding of: Cabinet construction systems Manufacturing processes Installation requirements Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability Leadership Ability to coach, mentor, and hold a team accountable Experience building or improving standards, workflows, and systems Strong communicator across Production, PM, Drafting, and Installation Why This Role Matters At JA Eisch, engineering is not just about drawings — it's about driving the success of the entire project.
