Job Description

Manufacturing Engineering Manager Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Manager responsible for driving measurable improvements in operational productivity by identifying areas for improvement and recommending process, equipment, and personnel enhancements. This role focuses on analyzing and improving existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste, while developing and implementing SOPs for new and existing processes, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs. The position works closely with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to manage budgets, monitor project performance, and support initiatives related to capacity, efficiency, quality, and safety for capital and maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities Provide engineered solutions and root cause analysis for complex manufacturing issues on legacy equipment. Lead, coach, and develop Manufacturing Engineering Project Managers, with the opportunity to expand team responsibilities as the organization grows. Partner with Continuous Improvement and Planning teams to improve yield, reduce scrap, and drive cost savings. Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, and product development teams to improve overall plant performance. Evaluate manufacturing capital improvement and maintenance projects for overall value and operational impact. Develop project plans, including budgets and schedules, to meet project requirements. Prioritize multiple schedules and project deliverables through collaboration and consensus building. Work with corporate engineering resources when applicable. Create, document, and implement effective SOPs for critical manufacturing processes. Train operators and supervisors to ensure consistency and adherence to procedures. Continuously review and update SOPs to reflect process improvements. Analyze costs and develop cost-reduction plans for capital improvements and maintenance projects. Perform financial analyses related to production costs and cost-saving initiatives. Identify required resources for projects and prepare justifications for senior management approval. Monitor and report project performance to ensure cost, schedule, and operational objectives are achieved. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of related manufacturing engineering experience. Previous management experience preferred (3+ years). AutoCAD experience preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, waste reduction, and continuous improvement. Ability to solve complex manufacturing problems using analytical and creative thinking. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to create and maintain SOPs in a manufacturing environment. Experience preparing technical reports and presentations. Proficiency with PCs, databases, manufacturing systems, and related equipment. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions independently. Strong leadership and team management abilities with the capability to motivate and guide diverse teams. Additional Information Occasional travel required, approximately 3-4 trips per year.
