Job Description

NORTECH is an Alaska-based environmental engineering and consulting firm with offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Juneau. With a team of approximately 25 professionals statewide, we operate as a close-knit, highly collaborative group where every team member plays a meaningful role. We support environmental projects across Alaska, including environmental site assessments, site characterization and remediation, hazardous materials investigations, and regulatory coordination. Our work takes us to remote communities, urban redevelopment sites, industrial facilities, military installations, and everything in between. Because of our size and structure, staff gain hands-on experience with engineering concepts and professional project management early in their careers. Team members work directly with senior professionals in both field and office settings, traveling throughout Alaska and contributing to projects from planning through reporting. Your Role NORTECH is seeking an EIT with 2-5+ years of experience to join our Fairbanks office and work under the supervision of our Environmental and Civil Engineers. This role is ideal for a professional who is ready to take responsible charge of projects, contribute technical expertise, and grow within a collaborative team environment. If you enjoy fieldwork, technical writing, and solving real-world environmental challenges, this position offers meaningful responsibility and long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments Performing soil and groundwater investigations Preparing work plans, reports, and regulatory documentation Supporting hazardous materials surveys and remediation efforts Developing plans and specifications for a diverse array of projects Coordinating with clients, regulators, and subcontractors Managing field data collection and analysis Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering, or related engineering disciplines 2-5+ years of relevant environmental experience Ability to work in Alaska field conditions Valid driver's license Preferred Certifications/Skills ADEC Qualified Sampler or
HAZWOPER
