The environmental engineer will be responsible for leading the safety, sustainability, and environmental compliance at the division. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining compliance with all safety and environmental requirements, implementation and management of environmental programs (air, water, waste, radiation) including permitting and reporting. This individual will also play an integral role in the education and training of the team, engaging with the plant wide team for solutions to problems and promote continual improvement, and participate in community outreach initiatives. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork while maintaining compliance in all areas. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering discipline Minimum of 5 years of environmental related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentPreferred Qualifications:
Industrial experience in environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, & project management Industrial instrumentation and automation experience Experience with Title V and or NPDES permitting Experience in air pollution control, water treatment operations, hazardous waste, and radiation ISO 14001 or related management system knowledge and audit experience RCRA waste generation, storage, and proper disposal knowledge Geographically mobile for current or future career opportunities Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplaceNearest Major Market:
