The environmental engineer will be responsible for leading the safety, sustainability, and environmental compliance at the division. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Implement and manage environmental programs (air, water, waste, radiation) including permitting and reporting Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental requirements Identify, read, and interpret applicable rules and regulations Oversee the development, maintenance, implementation, and compliance with facility specific procedures and plans (ex.

SPCC, SWPPP, RCRA

Contingency Plan, etc.) Active engagement in the operation and maintenance of environmental systems (i.e. baghouse, CEMS, water system equipment, water system chemistry, etc.) Active engagement with operations team to ensure alignment and execution of mill compliance and improvement requirements Engage with the mill wide team for solutions to problems and promote continual improvement Oversee maintenance and improvement projects from conception, design, and implementation Compile, review, and report environmental metrics Track on-site waste generation, waste disposal, recycling, and energy use Play an integral role in the education and training of the team Manage the

Environmental Management System Participate in community outreach initiatives and engage with Environmental Regulators Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical engineering or related degree or equivalent years of applicable experience

Preferences:
