drawings, technical reports, specifications, and construction cost estimates Support projects involving dredging, dredged material management, capping, confined disposal facilities, beneficial reuse, beach nourishment, wetland construction, nearshore restoration, stream restoration, and coastal design concepts Prepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, bid packages, dredge plans, construction documents, and technical deliverables Apply practical engineering judgment to complex project challenges and develop value-engineered solutions Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, subconsultants, and deliverables Coordinate directly with client project managers, technical staff, regulatory stakeholders, contractors, and internal project teams Support client relationship development, proposal efforts, and regional business development opportunities Help expand the firm's Mid-Atlantic presence across Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and the broader region Participate in engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and client coordination Experience with dredging, dredged material management, coastal design, sediment remediation, waterfront infrastructure, construction management, or related environmental/civil engineering projects Strong understanding of plans and specifications, cost estimating, bid packages, dredge plans, construction documents, and construction oversight Ability to work on implementation-focused projects rather than purely planning, modeling, or desktop design assignments Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to interact directly with clients, contractors, technical teams, and project stakeholders Ability to travel occasionally for field visits, project meetings, and construction support activities Preferred Qualifications Mid-Atlantic or Chesapeake Bay project experience strongly preferred Maryland-specific project experience highly valuable Experience working with or around regional clients such as port authorities, environmental agencies, counties, municipalities, or public infrastructure owners Experience with contaminated sediments, capping, dredging remediation, beneficial reuse, nearshore restoration, wetland construction, or beach nourishment Background in applied coastal engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, dredging engineering, or waterfront infrastructure Experience supporting construction-phase engineering, contractor coordination, submittal review, RFI response, and field oversight Experience with dredging contractors, marine construction firms, environmental remediation contractors, or waterfront infrastructure projects Existing client relationships or business development experience in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, or the broader Mid-Atlantic region Ideal Candidate Profile Applied, practical engineer who enjoys real-world project execution Strong technical foundation with the ability to move projects from design into construction Client-facing and comfortable supporting business development and regional growth Strong communicator who can coordinate across technical disciplines Hands-on, implementation-oriented, and comfortable working on complex environmental and infrastructure projects Able to mentor junior staff while still owning technical work and project delivery Comfortable working in a smaller regional office with high visibility and growth opportunity Interested in helping build and expand a Mid-Atlantic coastal, dredging, sediment, and waterfront engineering practice Why This Opportunity Stands Out Join a respected national environmental, science, and engineering consulting firm with a strong technical reputation Take on a high-impact role in a smaller Baltimore office with immediate visibility Help grow a Mid-Atlantic practice focused on meaningful coastal, dredging, restoration, sediment management, and environmental remediation work Work on regionally significant projects connected to dredging, coastal restoration, waterfront infrastructure, contaminated sediments, and nearshore environments Blend technical engineering, project management, client interaction, construction support, and business development Opportunity to work locally while also supporting complex projects across the country when appropriate Long-term growth path into broader technical leadership, client development, staff mentorship, and regional practice leadership
