About Thomasville Restoration Thomasville Restoration's vision is to be the number one restoration company in the Mid Atlantic Region. To help achieve this goal and support our growth, we are adding a Specialty Services Fire Mitigation Technician. This position offers a unique opportunity to support our mission of putting families' homes and lives back together across the Mid Atlantic Region while upholding our culture of Family First, Compassion, and Communication. What You'll Do Fire Mitigation and Structural Cleaning Perform fire and smoke damage mitigation, including detailed structural cleaning Clean and restore walls, ceilings, floors, and building materials affected by soot and smoke Execute cleaning techniques such as dry cleaning, wet cleaning, HEPA vacuuming, and chemical sponge methods Perform odor control including thermal fogging, hydroxyl, and ozone treatments as directed Identify additional service needs such as demolition, sealing, or contents work and communicate findings Set up containment and maintain clean and safe work areas Demolition and Site Control Perform demolition of fire-damaged materials including drywall, insulation, flooring, and cabinetry Identify non-salvageable materials and remove them safely and efficiently Protect unaffected areas to prevent cross-contamination Follow proper debris handling and disposal procedures Documentation and Scoping Complete detailed job documentation including photos, notes, and daily updates Utilize DocuSketch or similar tools to capture accurate job site conditions Assist in creating and completing scope sheets for mitigation, cleaning, and demolition work Identify types of smoke damage and apply the correct cleaning methods Communicate scope gaps or changes to project managers and leadership Contents Support and Collaboration Assist with pack-outs, inventory, and handling of contents when needed Support contents cleaning during large-loss or high-volume situations Ensure proper handling and protection of customer belongings Leadership, Quality, and Safety Lead and support team members on job sites, ensuring quality and efficiency Maintain a professional and empathetic approach with customers Ensure all work meets company standards and industry best practices Follow OSHA and company safety protocols and use proper PPE Maintain clean, organized equipment and workspaces. Who You Are Experienced in fire mitigation, structural cleaning, and demolition with strong technical knowledge Understands smoke behavior, soot types, and appropriate cleaning methods Detail-oriented in both hands-on work and documentation Comfortable leading teams and ensuring high performance in the field Strong communicator who can explain processes and updates clearly Organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working in demanding conditions Holds a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Familiar with DocuSketch and restoration documentation practices Preferred Certifications

Your Impact As a Specialty Services Fire Mitigation Technician, you play a critical role in restoring properties after fire loss. Your technical expertise, leadership, and attention to detail ensure that smoke damage is properly treated, structures are safely cleaned or removed, and projects are accurately documented from the start. Your ability to assess damage, guide your team, and execute high-quality work allows projects to move forward efficiently while giving customers confidence during difficult situations.
