St. Louis Lambert International Airport (Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $180.00 bi-weekly.) Incumbents in this position provide technical engineering support for environmental field investigative and compliance work. This position reports directly to the Environmental Regulatory Compliance and Safety Manager at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performs site assessments, field investigations, field sampling and other environmental surveys.
- Reviews permit compliance and prepares compliance documents/reports.
- Responds to emergency spills and clean-up/mitigation activities.
- Performs project management duties for environmental consulting and construction contracts; including monitoring schedules, reviewing invoices, reviewing contract terms and proposed changes, coordinating activities with other departments and stakeholders.
- Assists in or conducts tenant environmental compliance investigations - e.g. collects, analyzes, summarizes and communicates data and findings and recommends courses of action.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable federal, state and local environmental laws such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and the Toxic Substances Control Act.
- Drafts correspondence to Airport and City departments, tenants and State and Federal regulatory agencies.
- Maintains the airport's environmental records.
- Helps coordinate work of the airport's environmental consultants and/or contractors - e.g. monitor schedules, review invoices, review contract terms.
- Helps develop RFQ, RFP and Solicitations for Bids for environmental related Professional Service Agreements, General Service Agreements, and Construction Contracts.
- Attends airport meetings such as pre-bid, pre-construction, construction progress, and post construction meetings to ensure projects achieve environmental compliance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations and site-specific permit requirements.
- Helps develop employee environmental training and conducts such training as required by federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permit requirements and environmental management plans.
- Coordinates environmental projects with regulatory agencies, public entities, Airport departments, tenants, contractors and consultants.
- Coordinates environmental audits and inspections including preparation of written reports, reviewing documents, maintaining records and files.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Tasks may risk exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic/poisonous agents, or pathogenic substances.Physical Requirements:
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting of moderately light objects, up to twenty (20) pounds. Tasks involve the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb in order to perform inspection duties.Sensory Requirements:
Requires the ability to recognize and identify degrees of similarities or differences between characteristics of colors, shapes, sounds, and odors associated with job-related objects, materials and tasks. Requires the ability to distinguish objects and materials clearly both at close and far-range.Other Requirements:

License:
