N/A Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Environmental Engineer is to promote and sustain our culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: interacting with the team to lead development, growth, and improvement of NSSED's Environmental programs; compliance administration/responsibility with all regulatory permits, licenses, rules, regulations, and programs; taking a lead role in plant-wide Environmental project management, sustainability efforts, training, and audits; and community outreach. Safety is the most importanty part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of applicable experience

Committed to working safely and promoting safety, health, and environmental stewardship Superb organization and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills with teammates at all organizational levels Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Ability to analyze and think strategically Demonstrated ability and desire to manage and prioritize multiple projects successfully Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical engineering or related degree Environmental permitting and compliance experience in an industrial environment Working experience with regulatory agencies Experience with environmental management system development Proficient with computer programs including Microsoft Office & Teams, Oracle, SharePoint, etc. Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace.
