Job Description

Senior Environmental EngineerLocation:
Charlotte, Raleigh, or Greenville, SCSummary This role will lead complex environmental assessment and remediation projects while serving as a trusted technical and strategic advisor to clients, regulators, and internal teams. The position blends deep technical expertise with client management, mentorship, and business development responsibilities, and plays a key role in shaping project strategy and long-term client relationships.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead high‑profile environmental assessment, remediation, and risk‑based cleanup projects from planning through execution.

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulators, and stakeholders, providing clear technical guidance and strategic insight.

Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

Provide senior‑level technical oversight and review of reports, work plans, and regulatory submittals.

Develop and manage client relationships, including proposal development and project strategy.

Mentor, train, and support junior and mid‑level staff, helping develop future technical and project leaders.

Contribute to business development initiatives, strategic growth efforts, and cross‑team collaboration.

Qualifications10+ years of experience in environmental consulting with progressive technical and leadership responsibility.

Strong technical background in site assessment, remediation, and risk‑based corrective action.

Proven experience working within regulatory programs in North and South Carolina, including NC Brownfields.

Demonstrated ability to manage clients, lead multidisciplinary teams, and support business development efforts.

Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

Track record of mentoring and developing junior staff and leading teams successfully.
