Description The Environmental Engineer coordinates the compliance of air, water, and waste regulation for the facility. These regulations include CAA, CWA, RCRA, SARA, CERCLA and their state and city equivalents. Tasks include, but are not limited to, waste profiling and disposal, compliance inspections, and agency reporting and record keeping. The Environmental Engineer will provide technical support for plant projects to help ensure that the company maintains an awareness of and cost-effective compliance with all applicable environmental statutes, regulations, and permits.
Job Details Role Specific Responsibilities:
Tracks and develops substantial understanding of specific local, state, and federal, including CERCLA, SARA, CAA, RCRA, and CWA
Participates on facility inspections and follow-up to assure compliance with the regulatory requirements
Works closely with environmental contractors to facilitate appropriate tasks (ability to manage and lead contractor relationships)
Assists in the closure of action items from internal and external audits
Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) as needed
Performs other duties as assigned Compliance:
Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times Problem Solving and Innovation:

Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related technical field Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in Environmental field with at least 2 years' experience with Title V air permitting
Experience wearing required PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel toe shoes, gloves, and a respirator Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results
Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds, working outside in all weather conditions, climbing ladders, etc.
Excellent proficiency within Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
