What to Expect Tesla is seeking an ambitiousAssociate Environmental Engineerto support the Gigafactory Nevadacampus.
The Associate Environmental Engineer will report directly to the Sr. Environmental Engineerand will support environmental compliance programs for Nevada Manufacturing sites. TheAssociateEnvironmentalEngineer will develop, implement, and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management System framework in partnership with the broader EHS and Infrastructure teams. This individual willmonitorand analyzeoperational,facilityanddata collectiontrends and aspectsto ensureconformance to internal andexternal requirements, as well asto supportopportunities for continuous improvement. The candidate will develop,implementand continuouslyimprove programs within the EHS Management Systemframework.

What You'll Do Prepare, update, andmaintainDischarge Monitoring Reports forrelevant water permits,Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Reclaim Water Management Plans (RWP), and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans Support Air Permit Evaluations and Compliance Recordkeeping & Monitoring Support EPCRA environmental report preparation, including Toxic Chemical Release Inventory and Tier II (Hazardous Materials Storage Permit) Support the completion of waste classifications for new waste streams, sample coordinating & data analysis Manage the chemical inventory auditing program by partnering with EHS and production stakeholders as well as administering chemical approval process using established procedures Prepareenvironmental pollution release calculationsand develop, track, and report environmentalmetrics What You'll Bring Degree inEnvironmentalEngineering,ChemicalEngineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience 0-2 years of experience managing multi-media environmental compliance programs and related projects Experiencepreparing air permit applications, airpermitrecordkeeping, orenvironmental reports Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment where demands and priorities change rapidly Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, engineers, legal counsel, technical specialists, and management cross-functionally in a multi-disciplinary environment Foundational knowledge of EHS laws (EPCRA, RCRA, IFC, DOT, CAA, CWA, OSHA, etc.), regulations, and standards Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks programSimilar remote jobs
