  • Full-time Job Summary Resto Corporation is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Water & Fire Mitigation Technician to join our growing field operations team.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for performing and overseeing emergency mitigation services (EMS) for residential and commercial properties affected by water damage, fire and smoke damage, and related losses. The Lead Technician will serve as the primary point of contact on job sites, managing day-to-day mitigation activities, coordinating with Resto project managers, insurance adjusters, and Third Party Administrators (TPAs), producing accurate estimates using industry-standard software, and ensuring all documentation and reporting is completed in compliance with carrier Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position requires on-call availability for emergency response during and after regular business hours, including nights and weekends. Duties Lead and perform water extraction, structural drying, and fire/smoke mitigation on residential and commercial loss sites Conduct thorough moisture mapping, psychrometric readings, and daily drying assessments Operate, place, and monitor drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers Perform Category 1, 2, and 3 water damage remediation in accordance with
IICRC S500
standards Perform fire and smoke damage mitigation in accordance with
IICRC S700
standards Respond to emergency mitigation service (EMS) calls during and after regular business hours, including nights and weekends Ensure job sites are secured, safe, and compliant with all applicable safety protocols and PPE requirements Driving company vehicles to and from job sites across the NY and NJ service area Availability for on-call and after-hours emergency response including nights and weekends Documentation & Estimating Write detailed, accurate, and carrier-compliant mitigation estimates using Xactimate and CoreLogic (Symbility / Cotality) Document all job activity, daily drying logs, equipment placement, and photo documentation in MICA Mitigation Ensure all documentation meets insurance company SLA requirements and TPA program guidelines Maintain organized and complete job files from initial loss response through job completion and closeout Photograph all affected areas, equipment, and conditions thoroughly to support scope and line items Communication & Coordination Serve as the primary on-site liaison with property owners, insurance adjusters, and TPA representatives Communicate job status, scope changes, and supplement needs clearly and professionally Coordinate scheduling and logistics for crew members and subcontractors as needed Represent Resto Corporation professionally at all times in the field and with all stakeholders Leadership & Team Development Supervise, train, and mentor junior mitigation technicians on proper techniques, documentation, and safety Assign and delegate tasks on job sites to ensure efficient and quality completion of work Hold crew members accountable to company standards, procedures, and carrier compliance requirements Qualifications & Requirements Proven hands-on experience in water and/or fire mitigation in a restoration environment Fully functional in MICA Mitigation for job documentation, drying logs, and reporting

(Water Damage Restoration Technician) certification
IICRC ASD
(Applied Structural Drying) certification Ability and willingness to perform EMS services during and after hours, including on-call availability Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions Strong communication skills — written and verbal Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field without direct supervision Proficiency in writing estimates using Xactimate and CoreLogic / Symbility (Cotality) Thorough understanding of insurance company SLAs and TPA program guidelines and expectations
IICRC FSRT
(Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician) certification
IICRC AMRT
(Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) mold remediation certification Experience working within insurance TPA networks (Contractor Connection, Alacrity, Sedgwick, etc.)
