The selected candidate will manage projects focused on regulatory compliance, local/state/federal permitting, and site/civil/stormwater design; and further develop the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage small to large projects, including developing budgets, schedules, and proposals with significant client interaction. Supervise, train, and mentor early career professionals. Collaborate with peers, senior managers, and other offices to deliver successful projects. Ability to manage and adapt to changing scopes and schedules. Provide environmental compliance services, such as compliance audits and reviews (multi-media), regulatory interpretation, and permit compliance. Develop compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA)/NPDES, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Spill Prevention Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Rule; EPCRA Tier II, and other regulatory requirements. Develop feasibility studies and estimates through early site evaluation, preliminary ordinance and permitting research, and environmental due diligence research. Identify and track permit compliance needs for individual sites and projects that include conditional use permits; special exceptions, commission permitting, etc. Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering. (required) Advanced degree in civil or environmental engineering. (preferred) Professional engineering (P.E.) registration (preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 5 years of experience (7+ preferred) in an environmental engineering consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Familiarity with a variety of environmental compliance regulations, including waste management and reporting, hazardous materials, SPCC Rule, NPDES/stormwater permitting, and air permitting. (required) Project experience involving industrial and construction stormwater regulatory/NPDES compliance, waste management, and local ordinance compliance. (preferred) Familiarity with land development permitting and design, including stormwater, water obstruction and encroachment, zoning issues, and local permitting (preferred) An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred) Experience working on demanding, schedule-driven, and/or legally sensitive projects. (preferred) Excellent writing and communication skills. (required) Regular field work and overnight travel. (required) Valid U.S. driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel.
