Role Description Illest Environmental is seeking a driven and self-directed Environmental Engineer with 4-7 years of experience for a full-time position based in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will operate with a degree of independence, taking ownership of project work spanning environmental compliance, noise and vibration monitoring, site assessments and more. This is a unique opportunity for an early- to mid-career professional who is ready to accelerate their technical and professional growth at a rapidly growing firm with a national footprint. Responsibilities Serve as the on-site environmental compliance lead and coordinate with contractors, project owners and regulatory agencies. Prepare, implement and maintain project environmental compliance plans and permit requirements. Perform environmental inspections, documentation and reporting related to erosion and sediment control, stormwater compliance and site conditions. Support soil, water and waste characterization programs including sampling coordination and data tracking. Conduct field monitoring activities related to noise, vibration, dust and other environmental impacts. Coordinate environmental mitigation measures and support corrective actions when needed. Manage environmental records, waste tracking documentation and compliance logs. Support permitting efforts, agency coordination and regulatory notifications. Oversee and support Environmental Technicians and field personnel across active work sites. Assist with environmental incident response, spill response and complaint resolution. Support construction teams with day-to-day environmental compliance and management. Qualifications 4-7 years of experience in environmental engineering and demonstrated expertise in environmental regulations, compliance and permitting processes. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
