Environmental/ Instrumentation Field Engineer

Ohio Lumex Company Inc. is a mid-size company that manufactures analytical and scientific instruments. We are currently looking for a bright, hard-working, and enthusiastic person with good technical skills to join our Field Services Department. This is a remote work position that requires weekly travel to various project locations throughout the country. Candidates may be hired at the Technician or Engineer level depending on education and experience. The position involves frequent travel to install and service Ohio Lumex's products as well as perform environmental testing projects. A candidate must be willing to travel countrywide 50% - 75% of the time and be comfortable working in industrial facilities. Compensation is dependent on level of experience. This is a full-time, exempt (salary) position with full benefits.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES

Install and service instruments at industrial facilities such as power plants, cement plants, refineries, etc. Perform environmental and process measurements at industrial facilities using various instruments and methods Learn and understand EPA and ASTM analytical methods Understand and maintain a safe working environment Abide by QA/QC procedures Professionally communicate with co-workers and customers about technical matters

REQUIREMENTS

Must have technical/scientific/engineering education and/or experience Must be technically skilled in mechanical and/or electrical functions Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing stairs/ladders and lifting objects as heavy as 50 lbs Must be comfortable working in industrial facilities and on high platforms Must have excellent communication skills and work well in individual or group settings Must have a high level of organization and attention to detail Must be eager to learn and excel in a given project/task Must be punctual and reliable Must be able to legally work in the US Must pass random drug screenings and a criminal background check This is a full-time position with benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(K) plan.
