Product Environmental Engineer Allen Park, MI, United States (Hybrid) Job Description In this position... We are looking for a product environmental engineer, preferably with familiarity in emissions test procedures and laboratory equipment, to join the Test Technology Team. Responsibilities What you'll do... Work with Ford Global Laboratories to ensure that robust emissions/fuel economy measurement strategies are in place to develop and certify the diverse range of products in Ford's plan (including gasoline, diesel, and electrified products) Conduct onsite emissions laboratory assessments and sign-offs of Ford and contract facilities to ensure conformance to corporate guidelines and regulatory requirements. Provide ongoing support to vehicle programs and laboratory personnel with respect to regulatory interpretations, measurement analysis and laboratory assessments. Review and interpret new regulations for emissions and fuel economy testing. Provide direction to laboratories to ensure compliance with new regulations. Participate in different Government/Industry forums to collaborate on best practices and run special test programs. Carry out test programs to evaluate new measurement equipment and/or vehicle technologies. Generate assessment and sign-off reports documenting laboratory status. Develop test procedures and local assessment procedures based on regulations and Ford best practices. Qualifications You'll have... Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience Effective oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills Ability to interact effectively with senior management and regulatory contacts, including EPA and CARB Good problem solving skills Self-starter, ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision Ability to support infrequent travel Even better, you may have... This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
