Engineering Technician Job Description This role involves hands-on work at project sites, supporting environmental assessments, remediation efforts, and regulatory compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background , field experience, and a passion for environmental engineering. Responsibilities Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). Perform soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling in accordance with regulatory standards. Support remedial design and implementation for contaminated sites, including Brownfield redevelopment. Maintain accurate field logs, chain-of-custody documentation, and safety protocols. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field. 3+ years of relevant field experience preferred. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Proficiency in geology, construction, engineering, environmental science, and remediation. Additional Skills & Qualifications EIT or PE license is a plus. Familiarity with HTRW, radiological remediation, and landfill operations is desirable. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel to project sites and work in varying field conditions. Work Environment This position involves a blend of 50% field work and 50% office duties. It requires travel to project sites, such as those in Rochester or Jamestown, as necessary.
