Yes Location CountyWarren Street Address232 Golf Course Road CityWarrensburg StateNY Zip Code12885 Job Specifics Duties DescriptionUnder the direction of the Mined Land Reclamation Specialist 2, the EET 1 will assist in the implementation of the Mined Land Reclamation Law.
Duties include:
  • Performing site inspections of mines to evaluate existing conditions for compliance with permit conditions.
  • Issuing inspection letters and Notices of Violation.
  • Assessing reclamation work to ensure compliance with approved plans and to approve reclamation or require remedial actions where appropriate.
  • Calculating reclamation financial security amounts to ensure performance of reclamation.
  • Assisting program staff in responding to and investigating complaints from the general public.
  • Maintaining the Mined Land Database, electronic storage of documents, maintaining and organizing documents and filing.
Minimum QualificationsTo qualify for the seasonal Environmental Engineering Technician 1 position, candidates must have: (1) four years of experience in technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; geology or geology technology; or as a surveyor or drafter; Or (2) graduation from high school AND one year of the experience described in option 1 above; Or (3) graduation from a high school technical education program in aeronautics, architectural drafting, chemistry, electricity, electronics, mechanical design and construction, technical structural drafting and design, technical instrumentation and control systems, or computer circuitry; Or (4) 18 college semester credit hours in any combination of the following: engineering, geology, environmental science, natural or physical science, drafting, mathematics, or surveying. Additional CommentsThis is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 3/31/2027. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview. Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
