Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist to join our team on an on-call/part-time contractor basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and ergonomics. This role focuses on working directly with employees to improve their physical strength, flexibility, and overall well-being to prevent workplace injuries. The Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist will play a critical role in promoting workplace safety, reducing injury risks, and improving workers' long-term health and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess workers' physical conditions and job demands to identify potential risks for injury. Develop and implement injury prevention programs tailored to the needs of the workforce. Provide individualized and group coaching on strength training, mobility exercises, and ergonomic best practices. Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend adjustments to workstations, tools, and job practices. Educate employees on proper body mechanics, posture, and safe lifting techniques. Collaborate with management and safety teams to develop policies and initiatives that promote a culture of workplace safety. Monitor and analyze workplace injury trends to implement proactive prevention strategies. Maintain detailed records of assessments, interventions, and program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health, or a related field. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and ergonomics. Experience in workplace injury prevention, occupational health, or a related field preferred. Certification in ergonomic assessment, injury prevention, or occupational safety is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with workers and management effectively. Ability to develop and deliver educational presentations and training programs. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to workplace safety. Flexible availability to work on an on-call basis.
