Reporting to the Chief Engineer, duties include HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and repairs. Success in this role demands attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork, with a proactive and adaptable approach. The Engineer plays a key role in enhancing the guest experience and supporting the hotel's reputation. Prior hotel experience is preferred for this position. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned): Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of hotel facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and guest room appliances, ensuring all are in optimal working condition Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests to ensure their comfort and satisfaction Ensure that all maintenance areas and workshops are kept clean and safe, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols to provide a secure environment for guests and staff Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance issues, providing effective solutions and ensuring guest satisfaction through professional and courteous service Accurately complete and manage work orders, ensuring all tasks are documented and any follow-up actions are noted for efficiency and record-keeping Assist with the inventory and restocking of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring that necessary materials are available for uninterrupted operations Work closely with other engineering and maintenance staff, as well as cross-departmental teams, to ensure seamless operations and support the hotel's business objectives Follow all operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and contributing to the hotel's success Operate all maintenance equipment safely and responsibly, and promptly report any issues or needed repairs to the appropriate personnel Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Other Essential Duties:
(Continued) Attends hotel and department meetings and other functions required by management Communicates all pertinent information to Chief Engineer Must be available to work weekends and holidays Arrives to work on time, ready to clock in, in a clean/pressed uniform and non-slip shoes Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming Wears name tag at all times when at work Must be attentive, courteous and efficient at all times when dealing with the guests and co-workers Comply at all times with compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel in such a manner that promotes harmony and goodwill throughout the workplace Be familiar with all policies and hotel rules, and hotel terminology Must be capable of self-supervision and have the ability to manage time accordingly in order to complete the required work
Qualifications Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a maintenance or engineering role within a hotel environment Minimum age requirement of 18 years

Handle various maintenance and repair tasks while ensuring excellent guest service Adjust to guests' needs and prioritize maintenance requests in a dynamic and busy hotel environment Prioritize maintenance tasks and manage time effectively, especially during peak operational periods Accurately complete maintenance logs and records, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards Remain calm and effectively manage emergencies to ensure guest safety and satisfaction
Reasoning Ability:
As an Engineer, strong reasoning is essential for addressing guest inquiries and resolving technical issues efficiently. Attentive listening helps tackle concerns effectively. In a fast-paced environment, anticipating maintenance challenges and guest needs prevents issues from escalating. These skills ensure informed decisions that uphold hotel standards, providing a seamless guest experience and team support.
